Day Tours
A good flower season in Namaqualand depends on quite a few factors, of which good starting
rains, sufficient follow up rains and no scorching winds are the most important.
Each season has its secrets and hidden messages, but spring has a treasure chest filled with
mysteries wanting to be revealed.
We will seek out the best spots for flower viewing. All vehicle will be provided with two way
radios. We will walk among the flowers, get down on our knees to behold their beauty from
up close, and enjoy the rugged landscape bursting with colour.
I will tell you about unique plant variations and how they survive until spring arrives. Topics
like rainfall, pioneer plants, seed germination and the important role of insects will be
discussed. Medicinal values of plants will also be briefly covered.
You will not hear any fanciful scientific names for I know them not. All I want is to impart
some of my passion for Namaqualand and to open your hearts to the beauty of life.
The tour will be conducted in convoy style and vehicles will be supplied with two way radios.
